Alhamdulillāh, even though I had

Alhamdulillāh, even though I had been baking long before this course, it made me much more intentional about what goes into the food my family and I consume. After battling several health challenges that eventually led to some painful losses, Qaddarallāhu wa mā shā’a fa’al, I realized even more deeply that our health is an amānah from Allah.
That realization started my journey towards healthier living—from eliminating bouillon cubes in favour of natural spices, to making my own toothpaste and natural skin and hair care products. However, replacing our regular breads, pastries, and snacks with freshly milled whole grain versions always felt overwhelming. I wasn’t sure they would taste as good or be practical to make.
After attending Ummu Mansoorah’s freshly milled flour classes, I became much more confident. I was genuinely surprised by how beautiful her breads and pastries turned out, and seeing the success of other akhawāt she had taught encouraged me to give it a try.
Even without owning a grain mill, I was still able to implement what I learnt. Sometimes I use the local mill nearby, other times I grind small batches with the little grinder that came with my blender. I adapted the recipes using my hand mixer, and I’ve even baked on the stovetop during power outages. Alhamdulillāh, the recipes were flexible enough to work with what I had available.
Since making the switch, I have noticed an improvement in my overall wellness without having to compromise on taste. The bread is soft, delicious, and the aroma of freshly baked whole grain bread is on another level, mā shā’ Allāh. It keeps us fuller for longer, and there is something so satisfying about feeding your family wholesome food made from fresh ingredients. Even my little picky eaters loved it!
I also appreciated how interactive the classes were. Even watching the replays, I still felt engaged, and the explanations were simple, practical, and easy to follow. The follow-ups and support were equally valuable.
Jazākillāhu khayran, Ummu Mansoorah, for sharing your knowledge so generously and for making what once seemed intimidating feel achievable. Bārakallāhu fīkum
